Dominican Republic

When you think of Dominican Republic think of mountains and forest, with excellent beaches and resorts, including Puerto Plata, La Romana and Santo Domingo , the capital, oldest city in the New World , is the historical capital and revels in restored treasures of its Spanish imperial days. This mountainous, beach-fringed country occupies the eastern two-thirds of Hispaniola , second-largest of the Caribees. The country is larger than most of the other Caribbean island nations and this gives the Dominican Republic a decided edge, as it boasts greater geographic diversity.

"The most beautiful island man has ever seen" is what Columbus said when he landed here in 1492. He was of course prejudiced in desperate need of a small success and hadn't seen any land for some time then, but there is still quite a bit of truth in his observation. The East Coast resort of Bavaro and those on the South Coast , including Juan Dolio and Bayahibe entertain a slightly slower pace of life. With spectacular white sandy beaches, slightly different to the golden beaches of the North, and lapped by shallow clear blue waters, the Southern beaches are truly paradise for sun-worshippers wanting to chill out. Bavaro especially is excellent value, but with a designer Caribbean label. With the most stunning beaches of the Caribbean, you can't go wrong with the Dominican Republic .

We will be coming soon with more information on this destination.
